It has been way too long since my last post, but it in my defence, I have been very busy.

I only have 4 more performances of “A Lonely Impulse Of Delighht”. It has been a long run, 5 months, but I have enjoyed every moment. It is time to move on, and my play “Night Stories” ,that I have written and will be directing, opens September 4th in Hollywood, CA. We may also open in Boston, but still waiting to hear about that. This is a brand new script, and auditions begin this Monday. I cannot begin to tell you how excited I am about this play. It takes place in early 1940’s Hollywood, and those that come out to see it will be taken back to “The Golden Age of Hollywood”. Something that I am doing, this time around, is honoring entertainers who have had a great career in Hollywood. Some of the following have agreed to be a part of the festivities: Gavin Macleod, Sally Struthers, Carol Burnett, Mickey Rooney, Pat Boone, Art Linkletter, and a few more surprises along the way. If you live in the LA area, please come on out to Theatre 68. We open September 4th and run to the middle of October. More info to come in a couple of weeks, like how to get your tickets.

Lots of great things happening on the west coast, and I promise to be better about updating my blog in the future.

Well we are in a new year, and I promise that one of my resolutions is to put up a new blog every month. I know I am 3 weeks late in saying this, but, “Happy New Year”.

I believe 2009 is going to be an incredible year. A couple of my resolutions, after carefully thinking about them, is one, take more risks this year, and two, take time for other people. I will explain the later in a minute.

First, I want to take more risks this year. I never want to be one of these people who later on in life ask the question, “What if?”. I want to take risks in every aspect of my life: acting, radio, hosting, and life in general.

Second, I want to take time and help others who are less fortinate than myself. It is so easy to live in Los Angeles, and get caught up in your own life and forget about others around you. I believe that Los Angeles is one of the most selfish cities there is.

2009 is starting off so much better than 2008.

I have recently been cast in “The Shanley Festival” at Theatre 68 (www.theatre68.com). This is going to be a big deal out here in L.A., and I can’t wait to get started. John Patrick Shanley (”Doubt”, “Moonstruck”) is an Academy Award winner, who I admire so much, both as a writer and a director. I have always wanted to do his one act play “A Lonely Impulse of Delight”, and the character of “Walter”. Now I have the chance to do it, as well as working with a terrific character actor, Leo Rossi (”Analyze This”, “The Accused”). Leo is going to direct, and from my conversations with him, it looks like we are on the same page as to what to do. Very excited about working on this. We open the first week of March, and for more information go to: www.theatre68.com.

A week from this Tuesday, I go back to hosting “Rewind”. It is going to be great getting back in front of the camera.

Talk to you all in February, where I will have more updates, and let’s see how I am doing on the resolutions.

GOD BLESS,

Ryan Paul James

Last Sunday, I spent the entire day on the backlot of Warner Brothers shooting the movie, “L’ Opera”. The film is about a homeless man who hears music coming from an old opera house. The homeless man was played by a great actor named Myles. Come to find out, Myles is homeless in real life, and has been homeless since last Tuesday. I was suprised with how positive he was about his situation, and I will never forget him. He will not be homeless long, and I pray that he will get back on his feet real soon. It is just amazing to me, how life can throw you so many challenges. It’s all about your attitude, and how you are going to handle those challenges. You can take them head on, and descide your not going to let them get to you, or you can just give up, and let life get you down. I would hope that we would all have the same attitude as Myles, and not give up on our dreams and take on those challenges.

On Friday, I head back to the JC-TV studios to shoot next months “Rewind”. Just a reminder that “Rewind” is on every Tuesday at 3pm EST. and 12 pm PST.

My play “Perfect Teeth In Crocidile Land” has been extended fpr another week. I am having so much fun with this play, and I hope you can all make it out. Friday and Saturday nights @ 8pm; Theatre 68 5419 Sunset Blvd. LA., CA. 90027.

It has been way too long since my last blog, and I do appologize.

Life has been so busy since my last blog. I first want to remind everyone that you can still catch me every Tuesday at noon P.S.T. on “Rewind” on JC-TV. Great show for the month of May begins next week.

I am also doing a play in Hollywood called “Subway Series” every Friday and Saturday night at 8pm at Theatre 68. For more info go to www.68centcrew.com.

Now for my blog. This Sunday is Mother’s Day, and I have to brag on my mom. I thank God everyday for giving me my mom. I recently went through a really tough time in my life, and I knew that when I needed an encouraging word or prayer, my mom was right there. Even though she was on the other side of the country, I could feel her prayers. There is nothing better than a mom who prays. Since moving here to L.A. I have heard from some of my friends on how their parents don’t support them being out here and pursuing their dreams. Well both my mom and dad not only support me and my dreams, but when I lives in Florida, they were always there to drive me to my auditions in Orlando, North Carolina, and Miami, give me money for headshots, and helped financially with my acting classes. I will never forget, on my first day on the Mickey Mouse Club, my mom making me pancakes in the shape of Mickey Mouse ears. If you want to call me a Mama’s boy, I will be happy to carry that title.

Mom, I love you.
